THE HUMAN
behind the camera

When I'm not 'LanΓ© the Photographer' I'll most likely be with my dog Otis (the handsome chap in the photo below). Whether it be in the middle of the countryside almost knee deep in mud, or cosied up at home with either my head in a book or binge-watching a series.
I began taking photography more seriously whilst based in Birmingham, where I attended University (University of Birmingham), and have been back in my home-county of Hertfordshire for the past 7 years.
Travelling for work I’ve been lucky enough to photograph across the UK, from Milford Haven to Norwich, Winchester to the Yorkshire Dales.
When I’m not working I can usually be found out and about with my dog Otis. We’re typically out exploring the beautiful countryside that surrounds us, or getting in some Scentwork practise.
Equally I love being home and tucked up with a book or in front of the tele. I’m a total bookworm, and have been known to read a book in a day, or watch a whole tv series in a weekend.
I try to get away for a few days at a time when possible. We pack up the car and go camping somewhere in the UK, the coast being a favourite destination of mine (and my crazy doggo).
I’m a handwritten notes with doddles in the margins type-a gal.
I have what some would describe as a very eclectic taste in music, and before I got old and boring I’d be at gigs almost weekly.
To say I’m a dog-lover would be a huge understatement. I’m passionate about dogs wellbeing, their training and enrichment. Whether it’s obedience, agility for fun or retrieval work - being covered in mud with a dog at my side is my happy place. If I wasn’t a photographer I’d definitely be working with dogs.
I’m a big fan of all things warm and earthy-toned (if it wasn’t already obvious). I adore the colour palette. Unsurprisingly autumn is my favourite season, and I'm a wee bit obsessed with anything patterned like 70s wallpaper!
